Grab and go New York-style pizza touches down on Soi 11.
Soho Hospitality, the group behind Above Eleven, Havana Social and other Sukhumvit Soi 11 institutions, is making a foray into New York-style pizza with Soho Pizza.
From a neon-lit counter at Soi 11’s newest foodie complex, Eleven Bangkok (other tenants include Fowl Mouth, Cali-Mex and Hola Spanish), Soho Pizza serves its pies by the slice to both the lunch crowds and ravenous late-night party-goers (they’re open till 3am on the weekend).
The team here were trained up by globe-trotting Italian-American pizza consultant, Anthony Falco, who spent nine years at New York’s iconic Roberta’s Pizza. So, don’t be expecting any Neapolitan or Roman styles.
Made with 48-hour naturally fermented dough, these large, hand-tossed pies come with a thin and crisp crust, yet are soft and pliable enough to be folded in half, the quintessential marker of a NY Slice.
The pizza is served by the slice, on paper plates, where you’ll have that trademark oily residue left behind that’s reminiscent of the good ol’ pizzerias on the U.S. east coast. You can also buy the full 18-inch pies.
Don’t miss out on the classics like Sausage and Peppers (B150 per slice; B750 for full), topped with homemade sausage, pickled bell peppers, mozzarella and breadcrumbs, or the Pepperoni (B150/B750) with pepperoni, mozzarella and oregano.
A couple of pizzas aren’t available till after 6pm, but be sure to seek out the Eggplant Parmigiana (B140/B700), a vegetarian option with roasted eggplant, ricotta, mozzarella and caciocavallo cheese.
