From Greek food in a party atmosphere at Aesop's to Italian fine dining at Sensi.

25 Degrees

US restaurant chain 25 Degrees is a self-described “bordello meets burger bar.” They also say everything here is made from scratch, including the homemade buns. Burgundy wallpaper, iconic black and white photos, and a giant checkerboard mirror make for a suitably upgraded diner setting. The burgers, too, are upscale. The most popular order is Number One, with caramelized onion, bacon, arugula, Prelibato gorgonzola and thousand island dressing.

In a hall made for big, boisterous gatherings, guests are encouraged to hurl crockery, as is Greek tradition, to a soundtrack of “Zorba’s Dance.”

Cagette Canteen and Deli

Find your way to Cagette Canteen and Deli for a bounty of fresh seafood, stinky cheeses, cold cuts and simple French comfort dishes. “Cagette” is French for crate, the wooden sort that evokes the bountiful fresh markets of yester-century France, and the decor is thusly themed—farmhouse transmuted by the industrial revolution. As well as being one of the ‘hood’s top French restaurants, Cagette also doubles as a grab-and-go deli.

Happy Endings

This funky Vietnamese-themed bar restores some edge to touristy Silom. Find a corner in the neon-drenched dining room and tuck into straight-up takes on banh mi and banh cuon to go with other Thai-leaning dishes. The satisfying beef pho comes with generous slices of beef and a full supporting cast of fresh greens. What’s more, the herb-laden, Asian-inspired drinks (sample names: 100 Dong, The Pink Slip) arguably upstage the food.
