B.A.A.B (Bad Ass Asia Bar)
Charoenkrung's cocktail bar with an Asian twist.
The people behind Suan Phlu's shortlived Ku Thai have reemerged with B.A.A.B., a vibrant cocktail bar part of Charoenkrung's ATT 19 art hub. As the bar's full name (Bad Ass Asian Bar) spells out, the drink and tapas menu here deals heavily in funky Asian flavors.
Colorful antiques and trinkets set the scene for concoctions like the Shanghai Mist (B370), an easy-drinking mix of white tea-infused vodka with pomelo juice served in a petite teapot, which is made for sundown in the breezy courtyard with vertical garden, or the the Man Go! (B350), another dangerously smooth combination of gin, fresh mango and lemon.
On top of a small selection of Thai and international craft beers (grab a Stone Head Coconut Cream Ale for B220), mocktails start at B190 and nibbles jump from edamame (B100) in butter and soy reduction with lemon zest to calamari with chili powder and Sriracha mayo (B190).
The bar will soon be joined by a restaurant, Mad Beef, whose meat-focused chef’s table experience will cater to only eight diners per night.
